A Nashville native, Dr. Kendall Waddey is an internal medicine physician who believes that getting to know someone is an essential part of caring for them. She joined Brentwood MD in 2026, drawn to the opportunity to build lasting relationships with members and take a thoughtful, proactive approach to their health. She values understanding not only each member’s medical history but also their priorities, daily life, and goals for the future.
Board-certified in internal medicine, Dr. Waddey earned degrees in Biomedical Sciences and French from Auburn University before receiving her medical degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. She completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and spent five years as a hospitalist at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Her experience caring for hospitalized patients deepened her appreciation for prevention, early detection, and helping people make informed decisions about their health. At Brentwood MD, she pairs that experience with the time and continuity to look beyond an immediate concern, answer questions, and develop a plan alongside each member. Her goal is for members to feel heard, to understand their options, and to have a trusted partner in their care.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Waddey enjoys spending time with her husband, Thomas, their two young children, and their beloved dog, Zuzu. She also enjoys Pilates and yoga. A self-described medical nerd, she is usually reading about medicine—even in her downtime.
